Montenegro is a country with spectacular natural scenery and a rich history. Mountains, lakes and beaches create a veritable playground for those wishing to explore the outdoors and a picturesque setting for ancient towns, churches and monasteries. On the tiny islet of Sveti Stefan,
Amanresorts have opened up the rest of the island.
The 58-room luxury resort is attached to the coast by a narrow isthmus, the island was once a fortified village dating back to the 1400s, but is today part of Aman Sveti Stefan, along with Villa Miločer across the bay. Together these two historic properties offer a unique experience of the Montenegrin coastline – its beautiful beaches, UNESCO-recognised towns and superb cuisine. Recent additions to the island – the Aman Restaurant, Bar, main swimming pool and Upper Terraces – have completed the resort’s facilities, enhancing this experience even further.
Aman Sveti Stefan offers a total of 50 rooms, guest cottages and suites on the island as well as a further eight suites at Villa Milocer. Built in 1934 and 1936, Villa Milocer is situated just across the water with clear views of Sveti Stefan Island across the bay.
Every room, cottage and suite on the island is completely unique, in keeping with its evolution from a 15th century fortress. All are decorated in a subtly elegant fashion, providing every modern comfort whilst retaining the historic air and ambience of the island.
Priority in designing the interiors was given to preserving the original walls to remind one of the village’s origins. Furniture was designed especially for the island and much of the detailing, from the latches to the doors and windows, is based on what would have been on the island originally.
As a guest at the luxury Aman resort you can enjoy a range of signature Aman Spa treatments in one of the six spa cottages scattered over the island, a pool with fabulous views of the Adriatic and a range of restaurants, bars and cafés on both the island and mainland. Perched atop a rocky precipice, Queen’s Chair offers breathtaking views of the Bay of Budva.
